Our slum Areas project- ANCHAL PROJECT.
Dr Ajay Kumar ,Honorable Member of Parliament has graced the occasion of DIKSHHANT SAMAROH at Anchal Resource Centre,Working Women;s Hostel Campus. Certificates were distributed among candidates who completed six months training programme in basic computers. These present difficulties that Slum dwellers are facing, SPARSH under our AANCHAL Project is setting off some initial programs and projects in understanding, preventing and helping the needs of ignored inhabitants in urban areas.. With the help and support of medical experts,clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, IT experts, legal experts and environment specialists, we are trying to give a small impact on their life.
Information Technology Training for Girls
We adopted 107 slum areas under ANCHAL project in which we surveyed 12 slum areas for purpose of upliftment and their development in their livelihood. Girls and women from Slums areas have been getting opportunity to learn basic knowledge of computer at our ANCHAL Resource Centre in Working Women’s Hostel Campus where 60 girls from Sitaramdera, Chhayanagar,Chandinagar, Devnagar are joining Computer classes in AANCHAL Resource Centre. .This Centre is inaugurated by Dr. PratibhaPandey ,Chairperson, Central Social Welfare Board, Jharkhand. We have taken a initiative for placement of these trainees. We have getting support from deferent local industries.

Majority of districts of Jharkhand has been facing problems of Naxalism. The orgainisation organized one day camp on career counseling and advocacy in Singhpura Jwalkata in Gurabanda Block of East Singhbhum. Our Guest Speakers are Sri Nagendra Thakur ,Regional Deputy Director, Education, Government of Jharkhand ,Prof. Avinash Chandra Mishra, Co-ordinator and Professor, Post Graduate Department of Anthropology,Ranchi University and Ms Jahanara Begum, Ex Field Officer,TSRDS,TATA STEEL. Guests have delivered key note address on various aspects of career and opportunities in government and non-government sectors along with academic and professional fields. Participants are from remote and hilly areas where people getting less opportunities and guidance.

Sustainable development using the most possible resources the place can have, can also be a big help for one’s well being and survival mainly for the unprivileged society. Forming the Self help groups for the BPL is one of the programs sparsh initiated for sustainable development, this took place in Latehar. Followed by various programs regarding sustainable development among the poor particularly the women.Were being made possible. SPARSH supports the government through DRDA, East Singhbhum under the SRIJAN project for designed development marketing of self help group products and under SHAKTI Project sparsh also support women that empower themselves for self- employment. Training program were conducted in Jamshedpur and Chaibasa. Trainings on making snacks, pickles and other items as well as marketing skills and packing of food were being introduced, in that training alone 93 women enrolled. By 2007 under the Shakti project five self help groups are linked to DRDA Jamshedpur and Seraikella-Kharsawan was given an assignment of 300 self help groups. In Latehar alone 400 self help groups are working for the organization and 5 thousand are being benefited doing basket weaving, vegetable growing, mushroom cultivation and bamboo works.
Poverty Alleviation Project(AAR-PAR)
SPARSH,JHARKHAND has educational material with the help of SSEG, UNMC (SA), literature and websites, which has been provided to the Special Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Government of Jharkhand. Earlier ,we organized SEMINAR ON ACTION RESEARCH FOR POVERTY ALLIVIATION AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT and Rally on 21 October 2009 “Standup Take Action” of UNMC (SA) to alleviate poverty by 2015 by assuring their active involvement in planning and monthly review meetings to monitor the progress. Districts Chaibasa, Seraikella-Kharswan, Latehar, Palamu, Lohardagga ,Hazaribagh, Deogarh, East Singhbhum, are included in Rally and Seminar establishing live model of village development based on growth model evolved by the SSEG team of IRDA, New Delhi. The people who are interested to join hands with the organization and shall be supported to form model organization in their block and the district for facilitating coordinating NGO in organizing activities and monitoring the progress to ensure achievement of target of the AAR-PAAR.
Districts are Latehar,Chatra,Lohardagga,Plamu,Hazaribagh,Deogarh,WestSinghbhum,Searaikella-Kharswan and East Singhbhum.
SPARSH has organized painting, Debate-speech competition and plantation programme in Jamshedpur,East Singhbhum. Ministery of Forest and Environment , Government of India supported programme , participants are mostly slum dwellers and underprivileged class Chilgren in People Academy School . More than 200 participants especially girls & women from Chhayanagar, Chandinagar and Devnagar has participated in different segments sports , Street play and Debate Competition . Cleaning and Plantation work is going on in Devnagar area. We Distributed prizes to winner and consolation prizes to all participants. One Rally with 700 children is organized and moving in slums areas

Legal Awareness Camp
SPARSH,Jharkhand organized free legal Camp in Jamshedpur at Chhayanagar, BaridihBastee and Bhalubasa Community Hall among slum dwellers and poverty stricken community. District Legal Authority, East Singhbhum has given supports to this programme. Judges from the District Session Judge Court aware the need of legal system apart from routine work. Judges emphasizes inneed and care of Mental Health and right of those persons and opportunity could be availed through court. How the court will play vital role and give the justices to all. There are 700 people gathered in the camp and benefited from Judicial suggestions and laws.

International Women’s Day
Our organization has organized International Women’s Day in remote villege of East Singhhum,Jamshedpur. Rakhdih is a remote villege of Jharkhand basically tribal area .In that no one is aware of International Day and about celebrating this day worldwide. From this year , we focus on role of women in development of Panchayat. Women presented their view before 300 strong gatherings.A day long programme were divided in three segments,ALPNA (Traditional art in rural household ),SHANKHNAD(Oldest Indian Musical/Religious Instrument) and Speech Competitions.
Among slum dwellers,26 women and girls has kept their view before huge gatherings of Women and young children. Memento was presented to guests. This year we present STREE SHAKTI SAMMAN to a girl namely SASHWATI MANJHI from JODSA villege who has been working among primitive tribe SABAR for five years and educating them free of cost .
Since the founding of the organization, education have always played an important rule in our thrust for a just society, making the rural and remote places in the State of Jharkhand our primary target and consideration outstanding the fact that most of our fellow citizens are unable to give liberty to send their children to schools. Under the “Gurukul Project” in education field, areas of vital interests for out of school youths, children and dropped outs were the organization’s concern. Feasibility studies of the places of interests in which schools are if not far and out of reach for these children, chiefly the children of rural areas are capable of English learning through our 23 Gurukul Public Schools in three states BIHAR,JHARKHAND,WEST BENGAL and now ANDHRAPRADESH.This year SPARSH collaborated with AIESEC,IIT Kharagpur invited three professionals from Belgium,France and Germany. They would support our schools and fund raising activities.

Followed by more workshops, seminars and training were organized, sports activities, athletic meet, archery, rural sports, support for the Chhata Mela – a traditional gathering in tribal areas which is celebrated annually and dancing, folk lyrics, play, ballet drama were being performed. These and other activities together with the proposals were being instigated by the organization to reach out to those undeserved and unprivileged children in the remote and rural areas of the state. Recently, sparsh adopted KERA ORIYA High School in Chaibasa which being run by experimental basis in remote tribal areas where formal highschool is also unreachable. An inter College JAGDISH SINGH MEMORIAL COLLEGE in Mango, East Singhbhum was also adopted by the organization, on going projects and plans of having one residential english school in every districts and blocks in Jharkhand and three engineering colleges is hopefully to be open next year. Sparsh initiated various programs ad activities in relation to health that includes awareness campaigns on different diseases, family planning, child psychology, leprosy campaign, polio programs, sanitation, malaria prevention, with the help and support from the Government of Jharkhand Department of Health and Family Planning, resource persons experts on the various health concerns. Medical Check up and blood donation camp 2011
Currently, Leprosy SWASTHYA Project has been done, it is an innovative program in rehabilitation of leprosy cured disabled persons who have been detached from the mainstream society. Trainings and Workshops on File Making and Printing was organized for 3 days at Seraikella, the program was to motivate these people to believe in their own strength and capabilities in spite of what they had gone through. This year we organized Mega Health and Blood Donation camp in Singhpura ,(Jwalkata) ,Gurabanda. We collected 40 bottles of Blood and treatment to more than 300 persons with Allopathic ,Homeopathic and Allopathic treatment in Naxal Effected Area..
TOTAL SANITATION CAMPAIGN
A number of training workshops were organized for the Total Sanitation Campaign, again in the remote districts of Jharkhand were total sanitation is not present and not put into practice by the people. Kenda in Chatra, Gondey and Gamey in Giridih, Tonto in Chaibasa, Kuchai in Seraikella, where around 600 villages were covered in sanitation program and three production centers were established and 1200 toilets were installed among the BPL families at a very low cost. Awareness campaigns of five sanitation indicators in village areas, capacity building programs has also been initiated in the different districts. A five day training and workshop for the masons in the two districts of West Singhbhum and Seraikella was also organized. Sparsh provided technical support and installed “Model Toilets” in Vikas Mela, Giridih and established a “Sanitation Park” in Chatra, where actual models and sanitation indicators were being displayed for public viewing. Total Sanitation campaign is vital in making people know the difference how it can affect their health. We target one Panchyat for NIRMAL Panchyat in West Singhbhum.

Trainings on making snacks, pickles and other items as well as marketing skills and packing of food were being introduced, in that training alone 93 women enrolled. By 2007 under the Shakti project five self help groups are linked to DRDA Jamshedpur and SeraikellaKharsawan was given an assignment of 300 self help groups. In Latehar alone 400 self help groups are working for the organization and 5 thousand are being benefited doing basket weaving, vegetable growing, mushroom cultivation and bamboo works.In Chatra we start Training Centre of Stitching and Embroidery to underprivileged class women. This year we formed more than 70 groups so far. Three of them, BPL families have repaid their loan and now upgraded to APL class.
Performing Art Project-
Under IEC activities chhau Nukkad Ballet programme has been organized in East Singhbhum , Jamshedpur . Nippon foundation Chairman Sri Sasakwa appreciated the idea and encouraged our organization. Through this programme we spread the massage of Leprosy treatment programme and social stigma of this disease. Our ‘Shree Kalapith’ – SPARSH Performing Art Project has developed the Nukkad-ballet for social campaigning. Performance took place in remotes of Jharkhand. Through this programme we enable to motivate the illiterate and ignorant suspected persons to health centre for further assistancse. Our Project Director Guru Makardhwaj Darogha was facilitated for contribution in the field. This year we organized CHHAU-NUKKAD-BALLET on the occasion of Leprosy Day 2011 and 2012 in Seraikella, Artist performed Mask Dance throughdepicting the massage of stigma prevailing in the society with rally 400 children jointly with District Leprosy Society

dignitaries of Seraikella-Kharswan districts. Our artists performed Chhau Nukkad Dance at Bahragora and Musabani based on Migrating Behavior before gatherings and crowd . More than 400 hundred performances in different places in the Jharkhand..In World Aids Day our artist preformed chhau Nukkad Ballet in East Singhbhum District. In Delhi the general secretary attended National Level workshop and Jharkhand group has been adjudged second in Folk Media.
SPARSH run Working Women’s Hostel. Department of Social Welfare supported this programmed on no profit no loss basis. It is our SHAKTI Project. The Hostel is a capacity of 50 inmates who have all basic facilities within the building. We provide personality development programme and Yoga Classes in regular interval. Apart from this we conducted training programme and environment awareness programme. We provide Entertainment Facilities such as WI-FI, Dish TV and magazine, News Papers and Rose Garden within the campus with strict vigil on activities of inmate regularly.
Atma Sanchay Project
This year we motivate around 400 slum dwellers and BPL women to open Zero Balance saving account in Nationalized Bank Canara Bank, Tuialadungri and programme is on going in CHHAYANAGAR,CHANDINAGAR,DEBNAGAR and more slum areas, Jamshedpur, where a collection centre is established . Till the day Women particularly daily bread earners have deposited 2 lakhs. This year we join the hands with life insurance corporation of India for insurance scheme to poor people poor and under privilege of the society around 5 hundred policies has been broad jeevan madhur and jeevan mangal scheme of LIC for these scheme awarnace programs were performed in Jamshedpur slum area for than 5 thousand people aware of DE marrieds in dhori system.
